So, in the case of carrots, you can try out making carrot juice once in a while.

Now the question comes, how to make carrot juice?

Well, to be honest, there are a couple of ways to make carrot juice. But making carrot juice with a juicer is the best way out there. Because in this process the nutritional value of carrot juice remains intact.

But there’s a catch-

Even carrot juice has variations. You can try out different recipes according to your taste buds.

Now if you feel confused and all, don’t be. We’re here to hold your back.

Here we have discussed generic carrot juicing method, recipes, and carrot juice benefits to help you out.

Now, let’s jump right into the details-

The Generic Carrot Juicing Method:

Welcome to the generic method of juicing those beloved carrots. This method has 6 steps. We’ve gathered up different recipes and found these common steps. After that, we have tried our best to describe those in a super-easy way.

Now, let’s get going with those steps-

Step 1: Choosing Carrots for Juicing

This is a big step. You cannot just choose any carrots. Remember, what you eat is what you become. So, if you want to get the highest taste and nutrition, then choose the best carrots.

The best carrots will have some features. You can choose the carrots based on those features. So, let’s take a peek-

Feature 1: Rigidity and Inflexibility

We suggest that you choose only the firm and rigid carrots out there. There are actually two methods for testing the rigidity of carrots.

  • Squeeze the carrot and see if it’s soft in the middle. See if you can bend the carrot in the middle.
  • Take a small bite and see if it makes a crunch sound.

If your carrot doesn’t bend and if it makes a crunch sound, then congratulations! You have a fresh and healthy carrot.

Feature 2: Gouge Free

It’s common to find big gouges in carrots. These gouges lose their color and look almost grey. While making carrot juice, it’s better if you cut that part out. So, if you want to avoid this hassle, then choose one without gouges.

Feature 3: Straight Shaped

Using miss-shaped carrots is okay. Those don’t ruin the juice taste or anything. However, don’t forget to scrub out any popped-up crevices in the carrot. However, it’s better to choose the straight ones to avoid extra hassles.

Step 2: Wash the Chosen Carrots

Carrots are actually roots of trees. So, it’s pretty common to have dirt on those. Now, we don’t think that humans are capable of eating much dirt. And unwashed carrots carry a pretty high amount of dirt with those.

That’s not all-

Unwashed carrots may also carry fertilizers with those. And both natural and chemical fertilizers are capable of making you sick.

We believe now you feel the importance of washing carrots before juicing those be it natural or not. So, wash your carrots before putting them onto any use.

Step 3: Chop off Tops

To be honest it doesn’t matter. If your taste buds can handle it then we have no problems with it.

There’s a rumor about carrot tops that these are toxic. Well, these are not. If you feel too lazy to chop those off, then don’t. See how it tastes to you. After doing that send us a review. Maybe we’ll consider it after that.

Step 4: Chop the Body

Carrots are strong. These are rich in fiber. So, unless you have a powerful juicer, you cannot avoid chopping.

Putting in whole carrots might result in a jammed juicer.

However, there’s no need to make thin and small cuts. Remember, you’re making carrot juice not putting those on salads.

So, chop up rough chunks of 1-2 inches. Your juicer will handle the rest.

Step 5: Put Carrot Chunks into the Juicer

Preparation time is over. Let’s get into the real deal now.

Ironically the real part is the easiest here. Your juicer will pour out carrot juice from its other end. The only work you can do here is to get containers.

Get a juice jug and a pulp container before you start that juicer of yours. Forget these and you’ll have a nice mess all-around your place.

Step 6: Try out Adding Filtered Water

This step too depends upon your taste buds. Take a small sip from the raw juice at first. If you like raw juice, then there’s no need to add water. But many people don’t like the taste of this raw juice.

For those people, we have this step.

So, how to add water?

At first, take half glass raw carrot juice. Then start adding filtered water bit by bit. Stir properly and take a sip. If you still don’t like this taste, then keep on mixing water. You’ll like it at some point.

And this ends our answer to ‘how to do carrot juice?’.

Some Extra Tips:

Different juicers give out

Different juice amounts. Both the masticating and cold-press juicers have a pretty better yield or output. On the other hand, the centrifugal juicers are fast but are a bit low on the output.

The rule of thumb is that 1 pound of carrots produces around a cup of juice.

Serve Immediately

Carrot juice starts oxidizing instantly after getting in touch with air. Just like that, it starts losing valuable nutrients. This happens even faster if you’ve used a high centrifugal juicer. So, drink it as fast as possible. Make sure that you drink it within 24 hours of juice preparation.

Peel if you want

There is a debate going on about peeling carrots. Some say the peels have a lot of nutrients and some say those nutrients are negligible. In the end, it’s on you whether you want to consume it or not.

Bottom Line:

We are at the edge of our journey through the carrot juice world. By now we believe that you know everything related to how to make carrot juice at home.
